Before Don Churchill and Charlie Wojchowski, the founders of TEM INC. retired, they established the company as a leader in the tooling engineering and machining industry, which contributes to its current success. Founded in 1976, TEM began as a small shop specializing in the design of dies and tooling. But it was not long after starting the company that Don and Charlie realized that in-house manufacturing would provide them with more quality control over their products compared to outsourcing their designs.

Over the next 14 years, TEM continued to prosper in size, capabilities and customer base, and later relocated to a new 18,000 square foot industrial plant in Buxton, Maine, in order to meet the demands of their growing business.

Charlie retired, and Don managed TEM until 1998, before it was acquired by David King, an employee who had been with the company since its inception, and who is still the company president today.

Machining Company Expands CNC Machining Shop

With a dedication to providing superior products and services to its customers, TEM continues to find successes 33-years after its founding. It has expanded its operation into a 26,000 square foot facility equipped with state-of-the-art CNC machining, and over 35 full and part-time employees.

The company's technical staff includes both engineers and machinists who are highly skilled in their trade and offer customers a wide breadth of expertise to assist with the design and production of their products.

From purchasing materials to machining, welding and fabricating customized parts, TEM's well-equipped facility manufactures all its products on-site, and can easily accommodate multiple jobs of both short and long-run production quantities using a wide variety of materials. Considered one of the most diversified tooling and die shops in the industry, TEM has serviced numerous industries such as automotive, defense, heating, and turbo machining equipment.

The company also maintains strict adherence to quality and holds both ISO 9001:2008 and AS9100 certifications; and is currently in the process of receiving government certification for welding.
